[BIOI2] Formulaire de pré-inscription "Apprendre à manipuler les structures de protéines" - 28/11/24

Pre-registration form for the training session "Learn how to manipulate protein structures" all day on Thursday 28th of November in Gif-sur-Yvette.

The number of places being limited to 20 people, we'll select participants by sending them a confirmation email to the address given in this form so please make sure it's correct and check your emails in the coming days (other sessions will be organised).

Requirements:

  • if you can, bring your own laptop with a possibility of connecting to the internet on the Gif CNRS campus (Eduroam or Guest WiFi for example - WiFi at the CNRS) - you will be more confortable with your own laptop and it will be easier for you to follow on with analyses on your own data
  • have ChimeraX installed on your PC: ChimeraX is a 3D visualisation tool available in the I2BC app store or easily downloadable from their internet site. Installing it prior to the training session will enable us to save time on the day itself.

The programme:

Contrary to the previous sessions, the session will span over a whole day and will finish with a practical session applied to your own use-cases (this part of the training will probably start in the middle of the afternoon). You are, of course, free to leave before the end of the session.

  • The ABC of protein structure (composition, format, how to get it?, what can it be used for?)
  • Practical example with a structure predicted by AlphaFold (how to visualise a protein with ChimeraX, how to analyse it and how to understand the scores outputted by AlphaFold)
  • To go further: Foldseek, Consurf, etc.
  • Q&A and help with your own data

We highly recommend you to bring your own laptop on the day of the training but have a few in stock that we can lend you if you don't.

In order to better adapt the course to your individual levels, could you please estimate your level for the following items (1=the basics/beginner, 5=good level) :
structural biology in general
structural prediction
3D visualisation/manipulation tools
ChimeraX specifically
(This question is mandatory)

Please describe your project and how this training session will help in that context in 3-4 sentences. If possible, list the Uniprot codes of your main proteins of interest.

This will enable us to better prepare the content of our training session.
