- the basic commands of the bash language
- how to navigate through a file system with bash commands
Requirements:
- we highly recommend that you go through the short tutorials hosted by the IFB first : https://sandboxbio.france-bioinformatique.fr
- bring your own laptop with a possibility of connecting to the internet on the Gif CNRS campus (Eduroam for example)
have an IFB account (https://www.france-bioinformatique.fr/cluster-ifb-core/ – free & easy to create)=> no longer necessary
Motivation – bash in bioinformatics:
Many tools in bioinformatics analyses are easier to run (or exclusively available) through a command line interface (CLI). Bash is one of the languages you can use and is available on the I2BC cluster.
